Pokemon Go: 3 New Ways to Play Gen 2 Pokemon

Pokemon Go has finally launched the Generation 2 Pokemon, in a way different from the launch of the Gen 1. Except for the Legendary Pokemon, the Generation 1 Pokemon can be caught in the wild. 7 Gen 2 Pokemon have been released now, along with a hidden Pokemon. The way to get them is more complicated than catching them in the wild. If you want to get the Baby Pokemon, you will need to know a few features.
1. No wild Pokemon are available; you can only get them by hatching eggs.
The currently available baby Pokemon can only be hatched. You can hatch Cleffa and Igglybuff from 2 km eggs, Togepi and Pichu from 5 km eggs and Smoochum, Elekid and Magby from 10 km eggs.
pokemon go baby pokemon
Moreover, it takes quite a bit luck to hatch Pokemon from eggs due to the low rate. The most disappointing is that now you can still hatch the grown form of the baby Pokemon from eggs. While the rate is high, you can still hatch Pikachu, which is pretty weird.
2. Easter Egg for Buddy Pokemon
You can make the baby Pokemon your Buddy Pokemon, and the walking distance ranges from 1 km to 5 km. Except for Togepi, there is no need to set the other 6 Pokemon as Buddy to change for Candy. But it's worth noting that there is an Easter Egg for using baby Pokemon as your Buddy.
pokemon go buddy pokemon
If you use baby Pokemon as your Buddy Pokemon, the trainer will be able to hold them with both hands, which is sweet. But, among the 7 released baby Pokemon, only Igglybuff doesn't allow this Easter Egg. Instead, Igglybuff will float around the trainer, which is dreamy. After being made Buddy Pokemon, Pikachu will jump onto trainer's shoulder after walking 10 km, so many trainers believe that Pichu will do the same. However, the test shows that despite 10 km walking, Pichu will still in the hold of the trainer.
3. Togepi can evolve into a hidden Pokemon
While only 7 baby Pokemon have been released, there is a hidden Pokemon Togetic, the evolved form of Togepi. Togetic is the only Gen 2 Pokemon in a grown-up form. If you want to get Togetic, you can only evolved it from Togepi. The fastest way is to hatch Togepi and get a lot of Togepi. Otherwise, you will have to make Togepi your Buddy Pokemon and save Candy to get it evolved.

Pokemon Go Hatching Speed: 58% of the Riding Distance Will Be Counte

While Niantic has released Speed Lock to prevent trainers from playing Pokemon Go while driving, Pokemon Go in fact cannot accurately count trainers' walking distance regardless of how they travel. What is the number of kilometers that Pokemon Go can successfully count at different speeds? The results are surprising.

pokemon go hatching distance
If you are walking at an average speed of 1.2 mph (1.6 km / h) on a straight road, the game can record up to 80% of the kilometers traveled. If you are running on a straight road, it can record up to 80% of the distance. If you ride with a speed above 15 mph(24.1 km/h) on a straight road, which surpasses the Speed Lock 6.5 mph (10 km/h), 66% of the distance can be actually countd. In the case of a detour, it can record up to 58% of the distance, which is way more than the supposed 10%.
Test results are very intuitive. The faster you travel, the less distance will be countd. Some players are happy with the result and some are not. Trainers who drive a lot can hatch eggs while driving, and trainers who walk a lot can only travel by foot to get egg hatched. Up to 88% of the distance will be countd if you walk on a straight road, so the remaining 12% is a entirely wasted effort.

Pokemon Go Gen 2 Easter Egg and Buddy Walking Distance Chart

Pokemon Go just released 7 new Pokemon, which is a bit disappointing because Pokemon are difficult to get and will turn back into Gen 1 Pokemon after evolution. Nevertheless, some players have soon found Pokemon Easter Eggs. Just like the previous Pikachu Easter Egg, this can be found in the Buddy system.
Pokemon go gen 2 buddy system
After Pokemon are hatched out, many players make them Buddy Pokemon and soon find this cute Easter Egg. I believe many players remember that walking with Buddy Pokemon for 10 km you will get it riding on your shoulder. Currently, as long as the Pokemon is used as the Buddy Pokemon, it will be held by the trainer by both hands.
Currently, the Pokemon that you can hold in ands include Togepi and Pichu. It looks like the animation where Misty holds Togepi in the hands. You can give it a try.
Here is a chart of Pokemon Go Buddy walking distance chart. If you want to get Togepi evolved into the #8 hidden Pokemon Togetic, it will take a bit effort.

Pokemon Go Researcher jFarr hatched a total of 169 eggs

EXAMPLE:
Researcher jFarr hatched a total of 169 eggs (not including 10km eggs). The expected counts are 169 x 669 / 1715 = 65.925 2km eggs and 169 x 1046 / 1715 = 103.075 5km eggs. Next we take the square of the difference between the expected and observed count and divide it by the expected count. In our example, jFarr got 67 2km eggs and 102 5km eggs, so we get values (67 - 65.925)^2/65.925 = 0.0175 and (102 - 103.075)^2/103.075 = 0.0112. These values give a measure of how much the expected and observed counts differ from each other.
We add up the values for all trainers, and come up to a total of 43.905. If the egg distribution were independent of PokeStop, this total would follow a chi-squared distribution with 25 degrees of freedom. The number of degrees of freedom is calculated as:
(#researchers - 1) x (#egg types - 1) = 25 x 1 = 25
We can now calculate the p-value, this is the probability that a random variable following a chi-squared distribution with 25 degrees of freedom is 43.905 or larger. The result is:
p = 0.0111
This is lower than the 0.05 threshold for significance, so we have concluded that the hypothesis that distance distribution is independent of PokeStop has been refuted (See Note 2).
FURTHER TESTING (SPECIES DISTRIBUTION, ETC.):
We continued by looking at the individual species hatched. It is believed that the contents of an egg are already determined upon receiving it at a PokeStop (largely due to the fact that Pokemon with legacy movesets were hatched after global moveset changes, among other compelling reasons). Under the assumption that this is true (most importantly: hatching location is not important) we can research the contents of the eggs. The counts for individual species are too low to do any meaningful testing, so we had to group different species together. One way to do this is to compare the distribution between Water and non-Water Pokemon from 5km eggs. It's important that we look at 5km eggs only; if we looked at all eggs, a difference in species distribution could be caused by the difference in distance distribution we just discovered.
We ran a chi-squared test similar as before to the counts of Water and non-Water Pokemon from 5km eggs. This test gave a p-value of p=0.1728, which means we did not find a significant difference in the contents of 5km eggs of the different researchers. Other ways of grouping up species have also been tried, but none gave a significant result.
Despite not getting a result here, we are still very interested in the distribution of individual species from eggs and we will be running further, more specific, experiments in the future.

NOTES
Note 1:
The chi-squared test requires that no more than 20% of the expected counts are lower than 5. If we included 10km eggs, this would not be the case.
Note 2:
Strictly speaking, we can only conclude that the researchers obtained egg distances from different distributions. It could theoretically be the case that this is caused by something other than PokeStop location (such as time of day, level, etc.). More research is planned to help confirm/isolate factors affecting egg drop distributions.

Pokemon Go Study: PokeStops

We are often asked, "Do some PokeStops give out different egg species?" or "Do some PokeStops give out more 10km or 2km Eggs?"
Because of the difficulty in gathering this data, the world has been in the dark regarding PokeStop egg drop rates and distributions. We still don't know all the answers, but today we get to share a new, significant finding!
26 Silph Researchers undertook a grueling task: each researcher collected and hatched 50 eggs from a single Pokestop, allowing us to analyze whether different Pokestops gave different eggs. Nearly all 26 researchers managed to acquire the target 50, and some managed to get up to 180. In total 1,841 eggs were hatched, and the contents have been recorded and analyzed.
SUMMARY
After analysis, we are confident that not all Pokestops award eggs from the same distribution.
In other words, we witnessed some travelers receiving significantly more 2k eggs and others receiving significantly more 5k eggs from their PokeStop of choice! We can't yet say why, but the fact that not all PokeStops were observed to give out the same egg odds is a big deal. Look forward to more research as we continue learning about PokeStops and Eggs.
Now for the fun part: how we arrived at our conclusions!
ANALYSIS
First, we examined the distribution of egg-distances (ie, 2km, 5km, or 10km) for eggs from each PokeStop. One important reason for starting with this is because the distance is already determined at the PokeStop and the hatching location cannot have any influence on it. The distribution for each researcher is given in the following table:

Immediately, we suspected that not all PokeStops are awarding egg-distances from the same distribution. Here is a look at the ratio of 2km eggs to 5km eggs:

We decided to run a chi-squared test for independence on the data. This test checks whether it's plausible that the distance distribution is independent of PokeStop. We unfortunately obtained very few 10km eggs, so we are unable to include these in the test (See Note 1). So we looked only at the distribution between 2km and 5km eggs. This left a total of 1,715 eggs to analyze, 669 2km eggs and 1,046 5km eggs.
The first step of the chi-squared test is to calculate the expected number of 2km and 5km eggs for each researcher, based on their total number of hatches and the egg distribution of all trainers. Then we will test whether these expected counts differ significantly from the observed (actual) counts.

Pokemon Go 0.47.1 Which Pokemon Transformed Ditto

Pokemon Go trainers are now focusing on the official adjustments of the measurements and CP of Pokemon. At the same time, some players continue to dig deeper in to the Android 0.47.1 (iOS 1.17.0) APK file. Earlier some player managed to find hidden code suggesting the upcoming Thanksgiving event. Therefore, players are interested in the hidden clues in the file code and consider them trustworthy. The newly discovered code is about Ditto who is the most difficult to catch in the game.
pokemon go ditto update
Players have found in 0.47.1 APK a lot of code lines associated with Ditto. Here are a few key points that can be summed up.
1. Players can encounter and catch wild Ditto.
2. Ditto can be used to in gym battles.
3. Ditto moves sound effects have been added.
4. Ditto page background has been added, which is dark purple in color.
5. The spotlight effects exclusive to Ditto have also been added. Ditto may transfers into other shapes if exposed to the spotlight.
Ditto Catch Video
According to the video, it's not true that Ditto won't appear on the map. Instead, after the Pokeball animation where you capture the Pokemon, you get an "Oh?"similar to when an egg is hatching, then the Pokemon you've caught enters a cutscene where it transforms into Ditto.
Below Are The Known Pokemon That Can Transform Into Ditto.
- Pidgey
- Zubat
- Rattata
- Spearow
- Metapod
- Magikarp
If Ditto is used as the Buddy Pokemon, then it will take 3km to get a Ditto Candy.

Pokemon Go Gyms Best Defensive Pokemon And Movesets

In Pokemon Go, if you want to challenge a gym, you will need to beat all the Pokemon who defend the gym. When the XP reaches a certain amount, the gym will level up, and the HP will also increase. If want to defend the gym well, you will need powerful defensive Pokemon and make good use of the Pokemon's movesets.
Dragonite: Steel wing/dragon pulse
Lapras: ice shard /ice beam. (Blizzard also can work really well on defense as many people dont know how to dodge it)
Snorlax: zen headbut body slam (body slam just comes out of nowhere making it far tougher to dodge than hyper beam or earthquake. Also forces attackers to carefully chose when to use charge moves) P.S. lick and body slam is also really good as body slam is the bread and butter of snorlax.
Slowbro: confusion/psychic: psychic moves do well on slowbro because of stab as well as the fact that attackers will likely either attack with a grass type to counter the water typing of slowbro but most good grass types have poison duel typing thus the psychic moves cover its main critical weakness. Also makes it a pain for people using vaporeon (another common attacker) as vaporeon will be not very effective vs slowbro however due to duel psychic moves slowbro will still deal normal damage to vaporeon
Pollywrath; bubble/ice punch. Most lists say submission but i find dealing with pollywraths with ice punch more annoying as it prevents me from effectively using a grass attacker as ice punch covers the weakness to grass. It aslo covers the fighting type weakness to flying as ice punch will be super effective to flying types as well as grass types meaning people cant effectively use: pidgeott, charizard, dragonite and even exeggutor as ice will be super effective vs all of those (except for charizard it will deal normal damage vs it but bubble will destroy charizard so dont worry). Effectively this makes the only efficient counter to pollywrath slowbro with psychic moves.
Vapereon: water gun/aqua tail. Water pulse is decent but i find aqua tail is more punishing for misdodges and gives you very little time to dodge.
Gyrados: this is a tough one but i would say twister is more annoying to deal with than dragon pulse. Twister just gets spammed non stop which makes it tough to dodge safely while using charge moves.
Exeggutor: confusion/psychic
Arcanine: fire fang/flamethrower (on that note dont use arcanine for defense, its reeeealllly bad)
Venesaur: razor leaf/sludge wave most attackers will attack venesaur with arcanine, dragonite or an ice type like lapras. The poison charge move just helps a bit more over petal blizzard as it will ensure normal damage is at least dealt back rather than being not very effective. Also helps against people attacking with exeggutor as the poison move will be super effective vs the grass type
Among the abovementioned Pokemon, Dragonite, Lapras and Snorlax are relatively rare in the game. If you need these powerful rare Pokemon, you can Buy Rare Pokemon on Pokeaccountbuy.com. We provide IV 90% Dragonite, IV 95% Lapras, IV 98%-100% Snorlax and other cool rare Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Speed Lock Solution: You Can Still Spin Pokestop While Driving

Recently, the latest speed lock has been introduced in Pokemon Go. No matter players player as a driver or a passenger, as long as the vehicle's speed is over 40km / hr, they are neither able to catch wild Pokemon nor spin PokeStop to get items. The change makes it hard for us to collect items from PokeStops. How can we get rid of this speed lock issue?
Solution
Pokemon Go monitors the speed of the device at regular intervals. Therefore, the tip is that we can spin PokeStop for items within the few seconds before Pokemon Go submits the speed date to the system. Here is how it works.
1. Open Pokemon Go and do not leave the game. At the same time, you open another app such as Google Chrome or Facebook, so that Pokemon Go will run in the background along with the other app.
2. As you approach PokeStop, immediately enter Pokemon Go. At the moments, the game screen will be refreshed and shift to the correct GPS location, i.e. besides the nearest PokeStop. You immediately spin the PokeStop and get items.
3. After getting items, you press "X" to leave PokeStop and leave the game to enter the other app. You need to complete the process within 6 to 8 seconds, so that you successfully get items before Pokemon Go tests your device's speed and submit the data to the official system.

This method takes advantage of the few seconds before Pokemon Go submits the device's speed to the system. Please note that this method works only when you are familiar with the area. You need to know the location of PokeStop, so that you can manage to open the game, spin PokeStop and leave the game in the shortest possible time. If your device is connected to Pokemon Go Plus, you need to disconnect them before you can use this method. Otherwise, Pokemon Go Plus will still report the speed data to the system immediately.

Pokemon Go Daily Bonuses Secret Easter Egg

pokemon go secrets
Pokemon Go has been around for more than four months. What are players' impressions of the hidden Easter Eggs in the game? So far the Easter Eggs in Pokemon Go include the Buddy Pikachu, choosing the form to evolve your Eevee into by naming it, the chance of choosing Pikachu as your first Pokemon. Has Niantic added some new Easter Eggs in the game after a while of silence? The answer is yes.
According to Niantic CEO John Hanke, Niantic has been adding some secrets in Pokemon Go. He also points about the there have already been some hidden Easter Eggs in the game and hopes that players will find them in the next few weeks. It's so mysterious. What are some hidden features that have been added without being found? Many players believe that the secrets have something to do with the new Daily Bonuses feature where players will be rewarded if they manage to do daily tasks seven days in a row.
Players are discussing on Reddit about the secrets in Pokemon Go. When it comes to how to find the Easter Eggs, some players believe that we should spin different first PokeStop every day, and one the contrary, others think that we should spin the same one every day. Still there are other players suggest that we should open AR to catch our first Pokemon every day. It is believed that if we manage to do this for 7 straight days, we can find the Easter Eggs.
As for the Easter Egg itself, players speculate that it will be an egg from which we can hatch Ditto. Some players believe it will be some special Poke balls to hatch legendary Pokemon. The speculations definitely sound attractive. Hopefully players will soon find the hidden secret Easter Eggs in Pokemon Go.

List Of The Best Prestigers + Movesets Against Common Gym Defenders If You Like Dodging

pokemon go gym battle moves
Now that you can use 6 Pokémon to train gyms a common strategy is to use a "training squad" of Pokémon that are strong prestigers and are around the same CP. Any CP from 1000-1500 results in decent prestige gains depending on how comfortable you are in combat, but it is important to have your team close to the same CP!
While building my team I thought it would be useful to make a list of the best Pokémon to use against certain defending Pokémon. I like to get in the rhythm of dodging everything when convenient using fast attacks, so if you don't like dodging this list is not for you as it assumes you try to dodge everything (offense >> defense).
Dragonite
Cloyster: Frost Breath + Blizzard
Dewgong: Frost Breath + Blizzard
Lapras: Frost Breath + Blizzard / Ice Beam
Seadra: Dragon Breath + Blizzard
Snorlax
Parasect: Bug Bite + Solar Beam
Wigglytuff: Pound + Hyper Beam
Seadra: Water Gun + Hydro Pump
Starmie: Water Gun + Hydro Pump
Lapras
Raichu: Spark + Thunder
Parasect: Bug Bite + Solar Beam
Tangela: Vine Whip + Solar Beam
Ivysaur: Vine Whip + Solar Beam
Arcanine / Flareon
Seadra: Water Gun + Hydro Pump
Omastar: Water Gun + Hydro Pump
Starmie: Water Gun + Hydro Pump
Golduck: Water Gun + Hydro Pump
Exeggcutor
Butterfree: Bug Bite + Bug Buzz (if CP is high enough)
Venomoth: Bug Bite + Bug Buzz
Parasect: Bug Bite + X-Scissor
Scyther: Fury Cutter + Bug Buzz
Gyarados
Raichu: Spark / Thunder Shock + Thunder
Electabuzz: Thunder Shock + Thunder / Thunderbolt
Jolteon: Thunder Shock + Thunder
Electrode: Spark + Thunderbolt
Vaporeon / Poliwrath / Slowbro
Parasect: Bug Bite + Solar Beam
Tangela: Vine Whip + Solar Beam / Power Whip
Ivysaur / Venusaur: Vine Whip + Solar Beam
Raichu: Spark + Thunder
Venusaur / Vileplume / Victreebel
Charizard: Wing Attack + Fire Blast / Flamethrower
Arcanine: Fire Fang + Fire Blast
Alakazam: Psycho Cut + Psychic
Flareon: Ember + Fire Blast
Keep in mind this list is quite generalised and it may change depending on the defending Pokémon's moveset. Rankings determined here.
This list provides a mix between a Pokemon's dueling ability and its raw offense power, which priorities Pokémon that can defeat defending Pokémon quicker while they will take more damage and risk feinting if you don't try to dodge everything.

Pokemon Go Plus Restock In October, Costing $29-32.95

Mobile game hit Pokemon Go launched wearable device Pokemon GO PLUS on September 16. The devices sold out within two hours right after the release. It has been more than one month since the initial launch, and the item is not easy to find in stores these days. The good news is that Pokemon Go Plus will be in store again at a price of $29-32.95.
pokemon go plus restock october
In short, Pokemon GO Plus is a wearable device that can be connected to your phone via Bluetooth. It can bring big benefits for Pokemon Go players by making it easier to catch Pokemon.
1. With this wearable device, you don't have to use your phone constantly to catch Pokemon. The device will notify you of the nearby Pokemon and PokeStop by vibrating and flashing. All you have to do is to press the button on the device to throw Poke Ball and catch the Pokemon. The device will flash different colors, which mean different things. Green light means that a wild Pokemon is nearby. Red light means you have failed to catch a Pokemon. If the flash is a rainbow of colors, it means a successful catch.
2. When a PokeStop is nearby, Pokemon GO Plus will let you know by vibrating and flashing a blue light. You can press the button to enter PokeStop and get items. You can confirm the items in Trainer Journal or the notification function on your phone.
3. Pokemon GO Plus can also record the distance you travel, which counts towards catching eggs and getting buddy Pokemon candies
4. One of the biggest benefits of this device is to save your phone's battery life. You no longer need to open the game on your phone all the time, and there will be more playing time.

Pokemon Go Halloween Event 2016 and Best Ghost Type Pokemon Recommendation

Halloween is approaching. All games are to launch Halloween events, so there will be a lot of ways to celebrate the festival. Pokemon Go is no exception. What can we expect from Pokemon Go Halloween Event?
Today Pokemon Go posted a tweet saying "Who's excited to catch Pokémon while Trick-or-Treating? Use the AR camera and share these encounters with us using." We can see from the attached image that the game will add a log of Halloween themed background images to increase the festival atmosphere. Of course, if you want to get the background, you need to open the AR.
pokemon go halloween event
While it is cool, it is actually not that usefull. Some players suggest that there should be more ghost type Pokemon on Halloween, which means more spawning. Pokemon Go 5th Nest Great Migration Is Coming: Spawn Points Have Changed

The last nest migration in Pokemon Go took place on October 6. And it has been 14 days since the last nest migration. Players have noticed that Spawn Points have changed again. We can make an educated guess that the next Pokemon Go nest migration is coming.

pokemon go next nest migration

What is nest migration?
When a very small localized area has a consistent and abnormally high amount of one specific kind of Pokemon, it is called a nest. These areas are almost always guaranteed to yield more than 1 of the specified Pokemon per visit, perhaps at a rate of 5 per hour or more.

The reason that the next nest migration is coming is simple. Pokemon Go player Fightgeist has shared on reddit the details from October 16 to 18. Below is the information indicating the spawn points changes.

Another player DrHeadgear has also proved that spawn points are changing. Below is what he shared online.

I just got a new one, 100% verified. I have all my home points mapped and timed. This one is well within range to catch from my sofa, so no way I missed it before. Exact time: 12:29 CET.

So far, possibly lost two (on boundary of sofa-catching radius so not always available) and gained two.

The :29 didn't fire at 13:29, possible causes:
- The new spawn rollout occured between first and second appearances of the mon, I should expect it to spawn first time at a different time (:59, :14, :44) - I haven't noticed this.
- The new spawn rollout was part-way into its second appearance and I've confused it with a close-by new spawn at :16
- What Niantic giveth, Niantic taketh away again.
- There's a drastic change in spawn dynamics, that sometimes spawn points won't spawn anything at all

There is definitely no spawn at :29. This suggests that I was seeing the end of the new :16 spawn. If so, given that this is pretty much right on top of me, we have an exact time the rollout hit: the app was open all through the :16 spawn but didn't pick it up for 13 minutes. Barring extreme and prolonged GPS drift I think that's unlikely.

Pokemon Go Level Up Guide: How Many XP Points It Will Take To Reach Level 39-4

It is trainers' goal to reach level 40 in Pokemon Go. However, for most Pokemon Go players, it is not an easy task, because of the large amount of XP it will take to reach level 40, the current max level in Pokemon Go. The game has been around for three months, and there has been an increasing number of players who hit level 40. Except for players who use bot to reach level 40, the player who reaches level 40 without cheating appeared in September. Recently, in New York, there are three level 40 players, as shown below.
JimmEpitts (Team Instinct)
ChrisGioia85 (Team Mystic)
LandonSworts (Team Valor)

How many XP will it take to reach the max level in Pokemon Go?
It takes a total of 210,000 XP to reach level 20.
From level 1 to 5: 0.05*210,000
From level 5 to 10: 0.17*210,000
From level 10 to 15: 0.26*210,000
From level 15 to 20: 0.52*210,000
From level 20 to 25: 2.38*210,000
From level 25 to 30: 6.14*210,000
From level 30 to 35: 19*210,000
From level 35 to 40: 66.7*210,000
It takes 14,000,000 to level from 35 to 40, and 5,000,000 from 39 to 40 which is 35% of the XP. The first world's first player to reach level 40 is JimmEpitts from Team Instinct. To level up from 39 to 40, Jimmie only slept 4 hours per day. He played 10 hours every day and even 15 hours on holidays. He doesn't walk around a lot, and gradually accumulated his XP. He spent about $80 every week and totally used $700.
Below is a chart of XP requirements and reward of each level.
